Align Tools

The Align tools position selected objects precisely — either within the material, or relative to one another.

Watch tutorial: How to Align objects

Align to Material

These options align the selection within the material workspace (the white area in the 2D View defined when you set up the job).

  • Center in Material — moves the selection to the middle of the material. Shortcut: F9.
  • Center in Material X only — centres the selection along the X axis, leaving its vertical position unchanged.
  • Center in Material Y only — centres the selection along the Y axis, leaving its horizontal position unchanged.

Align to Selection

To align objects relative to one another:

  1. Select the object or objects you want to move.
  2. Hold Shift and click the final object — this is the anchor that the others align to.
  3. Click the alignment option you want.

The available options align the selection to the anchor's centre, or flush with its left, right, top or bottom edge.

Spacing

The spacing tools distribute the selected objects evenly while keeping their relative order. The outermost objects stay put and the rest are spaced evenly between them.
