Tool and Zeroing

Before cutting, the Tool and Zeroing step confirms which tool is fitted and establishes the Z zero — the height at which the tool just touches the top of the material (or the machine bed).


Zero the tool either by jogging it down until it meets the surface, or by probing with a Z touch-off plate. Setting this correctly ensures the toolpath cuts to the intended depth.
