Join Tools

Watch tutorial: How to Join Vectors

The Join tools connect open vectors together, or close a single open vector, so that they form the closed shapes required by most machining operations.

How it Works

Open vectors are joined where their end points lie within a definable tolerance of one another. Increase the tolerance to join end points that are further apart; decrease it to join only points that are very close together. The tools work in both the 2D and 3D views.

Options

  • Join — finds the closest end points on the selected open vectors and joins any that fall within tolerance.
  • Join with a Line — joins the closest end points of two open vectors with a straight line.
  • Join with a Curve — joins the closest end points of two open vectors with a smooth curve.
  • Close with a Line — closes a single open vector with a straight line between its two end points.
