Toolpath Tabs
Tabs (also called bridges) are small sections left uncut along a profile toolpath, holding the finished part in place in the material so it does not come loose and move during the final pass.
Adding and Editing Tabs
With a profile toolpath's vectors selected, use the tab tool to place and adjust tabs:
- Click a vector to add a tab where you click.
- Click or right-click a tab to delete it.
- Drag a tab to move it along the vector.
- Click in empty space to start a line, then click again to drop a tab wherever that line crosses a selected vector.
Press Esc or right-click to cancel a line in progress.
Even Spacing
The Edit Tabs toolbar distributes a set number of tabs evenly around each selected vector. Type a count to apply it to every selected vector, or use the spinner to add or remove one per vector. Reset restores the default count.
Tip
If a vector is too short to fit the tabs you ask for, the extra tabs are dropped and the count shown reflects the number actually placed. Changing the count after you have hand-edited tabs warns you that your edits will be replaced.
