Tool Db Name Format

Tool names in the Tool Database can be generated automatically from the tool's properties using a name format — a template made up of the tool's fields and variables. This dialog edits that template and shows a live preview of the resulting name.

Editing the Format

Type your template into the Format field; the Name preview updates to show how a tool of the current type will be named. The help text lists the fields and variables you can use. Click Reset to restore the default format.

Set as default

Makes this format the default for tools of this type.

Update existing tools

Reapplies the new format to the existing tools of this type.
