Vectric — Supercharge your CNC

Tool Db Machine Dialog

Cutting data in the Tool Database is stored separately for each machine, so the same tool can carry different feeds and speeds on different machines. This dialog manages that list of machines and each machine's configuration.

Managing Machines

Select a machine from the drop-down to view and edit it.

  • Add custom — add a new machine you configure yourself.
  • Offline install — install a machine from a downloaded package.
  • Search online — find and download a machine configuration from Vectric's library.
  • Copy — duplicate the current machine.
  • Remove — delete the current machine.

Machine Configuration

Name / Make / Model / Controller

The machine's identity.

Width / Height

The size of the machine's bed, in the chosen units.

Acceleration

The X, Y, Z and A axis accelerations, used for cut-time estimates.

Post-Processors

Each machine has a list of associated post-processors with their versions. Use the add and remove buttons to manage the list. Right-click a post-processor for more actions, including Make Default, View, Open Changelog and Open File Location; double-click a post to make it the default.

Warning

Apply your changes with Apply or OK. If you try to switch machines with unsaved edits, the change may be refused until they are applied.
