Extend Vectors
The Extend tool lengthens the open end of a vector until it meets another vector, so you can close gaps without editing nodes by hand.
Extending a Vector
Move the cursor over the span at the open end of a contour — a preview line shows how it will be extended. Click to lock in that first end.
Now move over a second vector; the preview trims both to the point where they would intersect. Click the second vector to perform the extension. Press Esc to cancel the second pick and choose a different first line.
Tip
Only the true start or end span of an open contour can be extended — closed contours cannot. Extension works against line, arc and bezier spans, using the intersection nearest the cursor.
