Fit Vectors Form
Fit Vectors traces around a selected bitmap image, converting it into editable vectors that can then be machined or edited.
Watch tutorial: How to Trace a Bitmap
Tracing an Image
Select a bitmap in the view, choose a tracing type, adjust the sliders until the preview looks right, then Preview to check the result and Apply to create the vectors.
Tracing Types
- Colour — reduces the image to a chosen Number of Colors (2–16) and fits vectors around the colours you tick in the swatch list.
- Black / White — fits vectors at a brightness Threshold you set.
- Sketch — traces hand-drawn or sketched lines (available on products that support it).
Options
Corner Fit
Controls how sharply corners are followed when fitting the vectors.
Noise Filter
Removes small, unwanted boundaries so specks in the image are not traced.
Bitmap Fading
Fades the underlying bitmap so the traced vectors are easier to see; it does not change the image itself.
Group vectors
Groups the resulting vectors together.
Tip
If no bitmap is selected the tracing controls are greyed out and a "No bitmap selected" message is shown — select an image first.
